BIO:

Bret is a self taught artist living in Waterloo Iowa where he is employed full time as an in home family and child mental health service provider.  While social commentary is his favorite subject matter he also draws from whimsical symbolism and abstract social imagery. 
Primarily working with stencils over collage Bret starts with a collage over canvas then layers acrylic paints and acrylic gel mediums to develop layers which add depth and texture to his work.  All stencils are hand cut and include up to 3 or 4 layers to achieve contrast within the subject matter itself.
