BIO:
I am primarily a self taught artist who began drawing at a very young age. With encouragement from my mother I became enrolled in art classes through The Nelson Atkins Art Gallery in Kansas City at the age of 11. While I continued to draw throughout my childhood it became less important to me upon moving to Iowa in my teens as I began to turn to music as a creative outlet. Upon entering college I put art illustration on the back burner to focus on playing music with my band Measure and developing my career in social work.
Since graduating college from UNI in 1999 I have been working in the field of social work in Black Hawk County Iowa with children and families. Sometime around 2002 (none of us are really sure) the band Measure disbanded leaving me with somewhat of a creative void. In 2005 I found the drive to create again and have been extremely active in making art at every chance I can get. I work with ink, charcoal, colored pencil, pastels, acrylics, and most recently aerosols.
